The new $35 million paper mill expansion was begun in the summer of 2005 and the new paper machine was commissioned in June 2006. This expansion included a new 27,000 square foot facility to house the new paper machine and expansion of our existing deinking facility. The new paper machine is a Recard, crescent former paper machine with a width of 102" and an 18' yankee dryer.
The new paper mill facility has increased the quality, as well as the efficiency and capacity at Orchids.

- The new paper machine will produce over 500,000 miles of 102 inch wide tissue paper each year -- that's enough to wrap the earth 20 times.
